Frequently used Addons

These are the most commonly used Addons for VRChat Avatars, that you will need to install to get your avatar working.

Upload Instructions for Avatars (PC)

These are the usual steps to upload an Avatar.

  • Make a new Avatar Project in your VRChat Creator Companion and install the newest VRChat SDK - Base and Avatars.
  • Install VRCFury through the Creator Companion or with the Installer. Get it here!
  • For Face Tracking, make sure to import Jerry's VRCFT!
If you don't need Face Tracking and don't want to import this package, make sure to delete the "VF_UE_TongueSteps_VRCFT" Object on the Avatar before uploading!
  • Open the Project.
  • Import the newest Poiyomi Toon Shader, alternatively you can also import it beforehand through the VRC Creator Companion!
  • Import the included unity package for the Avatar, that you downloaded from the product page.
  • Open the VRChat SDK Control Panel and log in.
  • Open the VRChat SDK "Builder" Tab and click any "Auto-Fix" buttons if they appear.
  • Click "Build & Publish for Windows".

  • Install VRCFury through the Creator Companion or with the Installer. Get it here!
  • For Face Tracking, make sure to import Jerry's VRCFT!

  • Open the VRChat SDK Control Panel and log in.
  • Open the VRChat SDK "Builder" Tab and Switch Build to "Android".
  • Click any "Auto-Fix" buttons if they appear after.
  • Open the VRChat SDK "Content Manager" Tab, search out the Avatar that you want to upload this Quest version to and click "Copy ID".
  • Go to the Hierarchy, click on the Avatar Object and paste the copied ID into the "Blueprint ID" under "Pipeline Manager" and click attach.
  • Now go back to the VRChat SDK "Builder" Tab and click "Build & Publish for Android".
Pink / Magenta Materials (shaders not working)

Video Instructions can be found here.

  • Make sure you followed the upload instructions!
  • After that, open your project, in the "Project" tab, select your Avatars' folder, in the search bar type "t:material" and make sure 'In SELECTED FOLDER NAME' is selected.
  • Now select all the pink materials (CTRL + Left Click to select multiple, SHIFT + Left Click to select all the materials from the first clicked up until the next one click), and change the shader to the corresponding Poiyomi version, used by the Avatar according to upload instructions.
  • (In some rare cases the Shader selection bar might be grayed out for you. If that's the case, one of the materials has a set parent. That material should automatically change the shader together with their parent. If not, search the material that has a set parent, click on the parent and hit your DEL key on your keyboard)
Unity says "Missing Script" / "The referenced script is missing"

This usually happens when a package/import didn’t fully apply, meaning you might've forgotten to import something needed.

  • Make sure you followed the upload instructions!
  • Confirm you’re using the required VRChat SDK + Avatar or World SDK version for that product. (Usually the newest version of the SDK)
  • Import all the needed packages into your project / add them to the project through the VRChat Creator Companion and re-import the product package into a fresh Unity project.
Textures look blurry / low-res in-game

My Avatars come as optimized as possible, without losing too much quality. If you'd prefer higher resolution on textures, feel free to change them!

  • Select the texture → set Max Size higher (e.g. 2048/4096) → Apply.
